Who I am at a Glimpse

My name is Chelcie,  and I am commonly referred to as Chelc. I was raised on a farm in a small village in the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island! While I am a true born and raised Islander, my heart belongs to the city, I love living downtown of big cities, right in the middle of the chaos. I am obsessed with makeup and nail polish along with shoes and bags (I know I know, what girl isn't?), however; my one true passion lies in helping others and trying to "change the world". I have a college diploma in Child & Youth Care Work w/ Addictions Services, and am currently working on an Honor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Forensic Psychology. This past year I have began focusing on self care (which is extremely important for social workers) and really made some healthy life style changes that I hope to share with you all through this blog :)

In 2010, I married my high school sweetheart, who is my one true love and my biggest supporter. Some people don't agree that I should be married so young, but when you know you know. I can't imagine life without him. I spent 2 years apart from him when he decided to run off and join the Military and I was living in Ottawa for school. It was hard, but in the end we are a stronger couple for it. It is fun trying to create meals that cater to him as well since he is so fussy and so against "health food", so I am sure you will see him mentioned in my posts every so often!!!

In addition to being a full time student, social worker, and wife, 2 years ago I was thrown into the whirlwind of being a Military Wife. For the first while I hated it (I am not ashamed to openly admit so) and even to this day I am adjusting slowly to the lifestyle we have to live. Despite my frustrations with being an Army Wife, I fully support my husband, and seeing him so happy in a career brings a smile to my face.

A few more fun facts to know about me are, I am a Montreal Canadians Fan by default, I have two cats (one who is an overweight dwarf....for real) named Mystique and Snicklefritz who are like Thomas (my husband) and I's children for the time being. I love Vampire Diaries and wine, I am a crazy fun loving girl who lives for new experiences.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog, I will try to keep health food recipes as exciting and engaging as I can, and I promise to throw in some of my dessert creations along the way. Mwahh, xoxo!
